Here’s what I love…

I love stories. Compelling stories. Stories that grab hold of you. Stories you read until 1am because you have to know how the book ends. Stories you watch in a theater that leave you feeling you’ve experienced “something.” Stories you hear in the news that make you stop and think.
Patti Kappler
For more than 20 years, I’ve helped companies tell their stories in compelling ways. Sometimes the stories are told live to audiences that fill an arena. Other times the stories are shared with one person sitting at a computer screen.

There are many different ways to tell a story….video, events, websites, print….but the creative challenge for me remains constant: How do I tell your story in the most effective way to impact your audience? That question guides me throughout the phases of every project as I focus on the creative objectives and goals and manage the production details.

That leads me to the other thing I love about the work I do.

I love to create the big picture and connect the dots. To develop the story strategy and determine the key messages for each chapter. To figure out how best to leverage the creative content throughout all elements so the story is richer, deeper and better understood. And then to bring the story to life. And I really love to do it in a way that’s collaborative and fun.

My love of stories dates back many years. In the mid-1980s, I spent two years working as a news reporter for National Public Radio and an ABC affiliate after earning a Broadcast Journalism degree from the University of Kansas. (I love the Jayhawks too!) In Seattle, I launched my corporate communications career with Watts/Silverstein. And in 2000, I ventured out on my own with my trusted office assistant, Lucy, a four-legged mutt with whom I shared a love of cookies. Lucy has since passed and I now share the cookie jar and afternoon walks with my 100lb goldendoodle, Murphy.

That’s my story until now. Looking forward to the next chapter….
