Ok, I’ll admit it. I’m a cowgirl wanna-be. It started as a young girl when I spent summers at horse camp in the corn fields of Iowa where I would get my own horse to ride and groom for a week. I loved the boots and the wranglers and the smell of hay. I loved the farm dogs and the country music coming from the bunk house and I loved the freedom my friends and I had to roam the fields in the hot summer sun.

I love the artwork of Donna Howells-Sickles and how she depicts the strength and spirt of cowgirls I’ve met along the way. She tells stories through vibrant colors and imagery and captures their independence essence…something I connect with as a freelancer.
